How to give Spinal Anesthesia-Space Marking for Spinal Anesthesia by Anesthesia Technologist
What is Spinal Anesthesia?
According to definition:
Spinal anesthesia is a type of neuraxial anesthesia; local anesthetic (LA) is injected into cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the lumbar spine to anesthetize nerves that exit the spinal cord.
How to give Spinal Anesthesia?
Spinal anesthesia is performed by placing a needle between the lumbar vertebrae L4 and L5 and through the dura to inject anesthetic medication.
I made a complete video giving all details related to spinal anesthesia, how to give and also gave demonstration of giving spinal anesthesia.

Space Marking for Spinal Anesthesia:
The Space that we use in spinal anesthesia is between L4 and L5 (L=Lumber), intervertebral space between L4 and L5. As demonstrated in Picture Below.
How to Find Tuffier Line?
Tiffier line is an imaginary line connecting the tops of illiac crests. As shown in picture above. Tuffier lines crosses body of L4.
This is how we mark space for spinal anesthesia.
